I’ve been to Rome many times. A lot of my friends and colleagues keep asking me why I repeat my trips to Italy. I have no answer. There is something in my heart about it. I adore Rome…
I enjoy walking in streets and engaging with people there. Living the experience and not only sights-seeing.
What about you, do you repeat your trips/places?
It’s on the list, Mohamad; but, no I haven’t made it to Italy yet. So many wonderful places yet to visit. I’ve been to London twice in as many years; our last trip was this past June. It was a little sad in London; the Grenfell Tower disaster had just happened; our hearts went out to the people affected.
But, Rome certainly beckons. It has such an old worldly charm!
By the way: I switched to Chrome, and no problems since… Thank You, sweet man, for the advice! 🙂
Thank you Carolyn. Such disasters are really sad and painful to hear. We pray all be safe. In my last visit to Italy last year, they were suffering from earthquakes. It was very sad to know about the loses in lives and in properties.
Glad that you made the switch. Microsoft itself abandoned IE! You won’t go wrong with Chrome or Firefox. MS Edge is good too; but until it has mobile version, it won’t be my choice. Opera is becoming another copy of Chrome.
Having visited Rome for the first time last year I certainly would love to return. There is something about this city that impels me to go back.
Isn’t it! Glad to know that you enjoyed it, Roland.
We were lucky to take our kids to Rome for a week in April. It is the most amazing city with such deep history. In Australia we live so far away from the world’s iconic cities, and there are too many wonderful places to make repeated visits to the same place plausible. Having said that, Bali, Indonesia is on our doorstep so we head up there fairly often.
Thank you, Marie. We’ve met many Australians there in Italy. All were enjoying it and saying almost the same thing. P. S., you, i.e, Australians, are very nice people. Indonesia and Malaysia are easy for us to go too. Personally, I prefer cold weather though.
I have never been out of my country (USA). I had an opportunity to go to Rome several years ago, but I was never able to make the trip. Thanks for sharing.
Hopefully you can make it someday, Darlene. I think USA has a verity of things that one might need to leave it. We used to have the same in Syria – local tourism – all seasons and all nature.
I visit places I like very often and if I can not afford to be there at a particular time, I watch pictures of the place. It keeps me connected
It’s exactly what we all are doing. If I can afford it, I’d go many times per years to the places I love. Thank you, Martha.
I’ve never been to Italy but can imagine it is a beautiful place to visit. I’ve been to London twice and would love to visit again. Currently, my travels are in the US and my husband and I frequently go to the Blue Ridge mountains.
I can tell, Franci. In USA, you probably don’t need to leave… You almost have every thing there as we used to do in Syria. I never make it to London, though, I wish to.
If I could, Italy would also be my repeat destination. But Seattle, Washington is real neat too! My husband has family there and I love the weather!
Thank you, Julie. I’d love to go there someday. And hopefully, you can make it to Italy someday 🙂
One of the places I want to visit some day (;
I hope you can make it someday, Lourdes 🙂
Thank you! (;
Been to Rome 3 times and I love it more every time. I totally get why you would repeat trips there.
Wow, Paige. So, it’s not only me here! 😀 Yes, there is something about it that makes you want to visit again and again.
It is strange. I always wanted to go to Rome but I didn’t love it the first time. I still threw my coin into the Trevi fountain though. I definitely believe in that fountains power as my other two trips to Rome were almost random. I loved it the second time and I became obsessed the third time. I hope the magic fountain continues to work for me and that we both get to return to Rome many more times!
Very interesting to know this. We loved it from the first time. It might because of the similarities with my home, Syria. Thank you Paige for the wishes.
So, I know where to find you there – Fontana di Trevi. My young daughter threw all the coins that were in my pocket in the fountain. They were many! I wasn’t able to catch her before she did it hehehe
Hopefully you and her will go back many times together then!
Thank you. Same to you 🙂
I was all set to go to Rome once on leave. Instead, Saddam Hussein decided to pull a bonehead play, I had my leave cancelled, and my team and I found ourselves camped out in Saudi Arabia.
Never did get to go. Maybe one day!
Wow… I’m sorry to hear this, William. Unfortunately, politics are affecting our joy times often. Hope you can make it someday though.
