A lot hate talking about history. But it’s an important part of our life… I’m a big fan of “Story of Civilization” book by Will Durant. Yet I’m concentrating here on the Arabic part, history of nations and civilizations is interrelated! The post is very minimal that each point could need a long article.

The main eras in the Arab history are:

1. Prophets, then Jesus and later Mohammed (peace upon them all)
2. Khulafa Rashidun.
3. Umayyad caliphate
4. Abbasid caliphate
5. Mamluk sultanate
6. Ottoman empire

There were some other big stories inside such as: Qarmatians, Fatimids, Buyid dynasty, Seljuk dynasty, Crusades, Ayyubid dynasty, Tatars, …

Some related facts:

• Qarmatians stole the black stone from Kaaba in Mecca. It was returned back 20 years later!
• Crusades conquered Syrian coast then Al-Quds and stayed there for around 100 years…
• Syrians, during Tatars’, faced very bad situations of poverty, hunger, illness, fear, and killings like now and more… they were even asked or encouraged to leave Syria (immigration)!!

We might know all/some of those… We might have forgotten… But the simple fact is: Nothing lasts forever.
