I removed the date from the URL of my post links. I’m programming 301 redirect code for that. Meanwhile, just in case you faced any issue, remove the date yourself please:

Visit your settings if you want to change your Permalinks.
Unless your blog is new, or you’re fully aware of what you’re doing, I don’t totally recommend this. There will be a mess on search engines (temporary) and other linked sites. However, things when you’re on WordPress Business Plan or Self-hosted WordPress are easy as you can edit your htaccess file or using plugins for 301 redirect.
Have you ever changed the permalinks of your blog? What is your best URL structure?
Why do you remove the dates?
Hi Sue. Well, don’t laugh at me; I just don’t like the date in the URL. Second, some of my old posts are still valid, date prevents readers from reading it as if they are outdated (this is Psychological thing)!
Thank you. 🙂
I never paid permalinks much attention. Thanks for the information.
Thanks, Franci. Consider it as “good to know information” as there is no need actually or clear benefit to change the permalinks of your site especially after having it alive for years. But i like to go through the adventure…
I am the same way! I like to see how things work in the background.

Yes, I alter my permalinks on all of my blogs by taking out the ‘glue words’ such as: of, a, the, is, etc.
That is also an important point in healthy SEO web address, Tamara. Search engines fix it too… Thanks for your kind input.
