An old house in the old city

old house

This is my house. In Damascus, most of the old houses are similar.

an old house in Damascus

The man in the video below is my Father. He used to clean the yard and do the maintenance of the house by his own hands like other old men do there. I talked about my Father in another post: Home is where the heart is. Sorry for the quality of the video; it was taped by an old camera in 2010.

I believe you know now the story behind my logo!

It’s truly a blessing that you have this video to warm your heart when you are missing this place. If things changed, would you be able to go back to this house?
Damascus and your home look absolutely breathtaking. Great music; what was the name of the last song?

If there is anything I could put on my blog that might help, please let me know. (Change the world, one word at a time)

It seems that when I handled the shaking, the quality was reduced. I fixed the video now. I hope I can get back to this wonderful house when things are settled. Wow, thank you for your offer. That’s very kind of you. And, it means a lot to me. Just mention us in your prayers. As for the song, I’m not sure. I believe it’s a modified modern version of some old Egyptian musician – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tX-GNKhrcwo

Thank you, Kerry. People living in such places don’t need to go out a lot! It has every thing…

Lovely home, and of course I really like that you have lots of lovely plants.

    1. Mohamad Al Karbi Avatar

Thank you, Cindy. The plants are the essential part of such houses there. They also need good amount of time to take care of them…

      1. updownflight Avatar

I imagine the plants do take a lot of time and loving care, but they definitely make it look like a paradise.

      2. Mohamad Al Karbi Avatar

Furthermore, I remember when my parent leave the house for days, the plants loose their fresh look as if they’re missing them! Even though I was taking care of them

      3. updownflight Avatar

I really enjoy the thought of how your parents have such a special connection with their plants. So they take care of all of the lovely plants together?

      4. Mohamad Al Karbi Avatar

Yes, isn’t it great? It enforces the love in someway too!
