After 15 years, Syria!

After fifteen long years, I set my foot in Syria once more. As I entered Damascus, my heart nearly gave out. The city, my soul’s cradle, welcomed me with silent stories etched in every wall and stone.

Crying, laughing, lost, speechless…

It felt like finally touching a dream that had been aching in my chest for too long. Damaged but defiant, Damascus still the most breathtaking city on Earth.

Mohamed, my friend, I am so happy that you’ve finally visited your homeland again. Living abroad, I understand how the heart yearns to. Your pictures are a glimpse of a wonderful place with such a rich history. I hope the damaged buildings will hopefully be repaired in the coming years. The undamaged treasures’ beauty is awe-inspiring. I wish Syria peace and prosperity in the future!

Yes, words can’t describe it. I felt my dad there in every corner of the house as if he is alive. I saw myself a kid running around…
