If you are an avid traveler, you have to visit New York City at least once in your lifetime. New York City is the mecca of the modern world. Of course, visiting the tourist spots in Manhattan is always a must but visiting Queens, New York, one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the world, is only for connoisseurs. I have been living ten years in New York City, and I will give you 3 reasons to visit Queens, New York, the neighborhood of the world!
The Food
From Manhattan, you can take train NQR or the 7th, and you will find yourself immersed in the most diverse neighborhood of it all. Here you find immigrants from all over the world, India, Pakistan, Arabia, Italy, Greece, Spain, and all the countries of Latin America. Immigrants bring their delicious delicacies, food fare, with the most authentic ingredients that you can find. The most authentic food experience you will have is in Queens. For instance, if you like Greek Food, visit Telly’s Taverna located at Astoria, Queens.
Regarding authentic Mexican Cuisine, I can recommend you see Casa Enrique. If you are craving Latin American food, you have to visit the vibrant neighborhood of Jackson Heights, where you can find small but flavorful restaurants. If you love Italian Food, you have to visit Piccola Venezia
The People
People in Queens gather in small cafeterias, making you feel like you are in their country of origin. For example, Greeks get together in greek bakeries, same as the Italians. You can also visit a little taco joint and find amicable Latin people who recommend you the next best spot in their vibrant neighborhoods. They said New Yorkers are very tough, but I found people of Queens very friendly.
The Vibe
In Queens, there is life and happiness all around 24/7. Late spots are a characteristic of the entire city, but the vibe is more relaxed in Queens. It is very authentic; people here is not pretending to be anyone else. Being a neighborhood that embraces multiculturality, everyone is comfortable being theselves and sharing that authentic vibe with you.

I have family and good friends in NY. Great place to visit…I don’t think I could live there personally. I like driving my own car and can’t figure out the subway system. lol
I have a car here but you need to be a good driver, master the driving skills of driving in the city is not for everyone! If you ever have the chance to visit is a must!
I’ve been to NY. I got my master’s degree at Syracuse University. I lived in upstate for a while. Yeah, I’m not the best driver. Lol 😆

I have been to NYC several times, very long ago, with my late husband, who was a quadriplegic. We always had a good time and found everyone kind and helpful. My brother-in-law and his family still live there, and my sister-in-law and her family are in nearby Hoboken. Thank you for this interesting post. <3
