5 Things Not To Miss in Phoenix, Arizona

I absolutely love traveling, but when I made my first trip to Phoenix, Arizona in 2014 I fell head-over-heels in love with the city. So much so as soon as I got home I packed up my car and moved across country. It was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the midwestern city I had been residing in the past few years. I loved all of it; the sun, the heat, the vegetation, the people. It was like my own little slice of heaven on earth.

Since then I loved sharing my favorite spots with people visiting. Here’s my list of top five things you must do the next time you find yourself around Phoenix.

Canyon of Music, Wind, Light

The village of Chinle is a “census designate place”, in other words it only exists because people live there, it was not formally recorded in “official” records. On the Navajo reservation, people lived here beyond recorded time. It is called in their language “flowing out”, where live giving water flows out from the canyons.

Children Giving to Children

This past weekend I attended Austin’s 29th Annual Children Giving to Children Parade – a collaborative event with the Operation Blue Santa Program.

Their goal? To collect toys for the children whose parents can’t afford to buy them.

Since 1987, the concept of a parade grew. This weekend, thousands of spectators arrived to view the giant balloons, holiday floats, mariachi bands, jugglers and more.
