Yesterday, I moved my last video from YouTube to SmugMug!

Sorry for being away for a while. I was in Jordan for some medical treatment (for my wife)…
Just a quick note about an old post of mine: Save storage space on your blog, Flickr has agreed to be acquired by SmugMug. Thus, I’m not sure if my old post will be valid in regard to Flickr point!
On WordPress.com, a basic subscription has 6GB of storage space. The space may vary based on the subscription level or the platform used. However, it’s still limited. One important hint is to host your media (photos, videos, and files) on different platforms and link to them on your blog. This way, the media won’t be calculated against your blog’s quota.
YouTube has the largest database ever as almost everyone uses it. The only two competitors I know are Dailymotion and Vimeo. I prefer Dailymotion though. Because I live aboard, I mainly use such services to share my own videos with family and friends…
I love Flickr. Who does not?! It’s my first place for publishing my photos and it’s a stable platform for storing and publishing photos. It’s prepared to serve a photographer very well in most of their needs. I can’t say I’m a photographer but I like to keep & organize my photos and share them especially with family and friends. I tried Picasa once. But unfortunately Google killed it. Google Photos in return is a step in the right direction. However, still don’t believe Google is giving real efforts on this service.
