Privacy Concerns?!

PrivacyConcernsHmm, you might already noticed that the next era – already started, our online privacy is open to different types of invasion. Thus, you might like to consider those applications:

First, “Protonmail“. It’s open source email service (almost free) with encryption. A real encryption where you have the key. Microsoft and Google encrypt emails but they have the key. For Apple, in case you don’t know, they don’t encrypt iCloud mail at all; to be more accurate, let’s say “at rest”!

There is a similar mail service named “Tutanota” but I haven’t got the chance to test it.

Second, “Standard Notes“. It’s open source note service with encryption. It’s available on many platforms, e.g., MacOS, iOS, Android, Windows, ..). It’s totally free and simple; however, you can pay for more advanced features if you like to.

“Joplin” is very similar note taking application too. Actually, it’s even more advanced one. Personally, I find Standard Notes is more appealing…

Third, “Cryptomator“. Do you use Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or iCloud to store your files and documents? This free open source app creates an encrypted space on any cloud storage. You can use this space to store your important files…

Forth, “Firefox“. The reputation of this browser precedes it. It’s an open source browser that isn’t made by Google, Microsoft, or Apple. Isn’t this enough?!

The general rule, no matter how much this might be difficult, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
