If you do a search, you’ll find internet is full with debate and comparisons about which one to choose as a commenting system for your blog/articles: Disqus, Facebook, or Livefyre… If your blog is using WordPress, then you can also use its default commenting system – my preferred one here. If you’re using Blogger, then you can use their default commenting system or Google+ comments – also my preferred one here.
Unfortunately, Google Plus isn’t available outside Blogger. There is a way to install it though! I won’t repeat all pros and cons for each of these as internet is full with such comparisons.
Disqus
I like it especially with its flexibility in importing and exporting comments from/to many platforms. It generates revenue too. However, it’s not that much comparing to Google AdSense and most ads are not related to the topics. I don’t like Disqus way in not allowing me to delete sites or channels! My main concern is that no much contributions/comments are there. I’ve heard it many times that it’s difficult to use or to register!
Facebook Comments Plugin
Facebook seems easier & faster with more potential of marketing your website through this giant social network – well, this isn’t as big as you might imagine. I like that with some promotion on Facebook, you can get a lot of comments very quickly. Ability to mirror comments with Facebook page of the site is a great feature; but this will work with newly posted URLs only. And, if commenting as page, you need to go to the post on FB page to edit the comment. Moreover, commenting counts are not always accurate especially with hiding or reporting comments. Not everyone also likes to comment with their social or real names. Facebook might be probably banned on many companies’ networks too. Not to mention that there are a lot of people hate Facebook! After all, quality of comments that are coming from Disqus seems to be higher.
I also noticed that using Facebook comments for few days resulted in decrease of my revenue from Google AdSense! My other concern is in case I wanted to change the domain. Facebook won’t allow you to move comments to other domains. There are some tricks to override this but it’s not the best practice.
I haven’t worked fully with livefyre, but I liked that posting as guest is easier & simpler than Disqus. I just felt it was slower in loading!
My other option is to build my own commenting system. This option might increase the costs of database and site resources; in addition to more managing efforts. For me, I always thought that a simple commenting system is just to write your name, email, and comment… with option of notification of new replies if email was provided.

After testing, it seems yes. Facebook is the dominant. But as I said: The quality of comments, stability, and flexibility in Disqus are still better

Hi, well it’s WordPress – the default template with some CSS styling by me. Happy to hear this. Of course, it’s not the fastest though.
Hosting depends on your needs. That’s, if you’re considering a WordPress.org, many are providing this hosting at affordable price. If other, such as ASP(.net), I’d go with WebWiz for sure.
