سلسلة القيمة (value chain) هي سلسلة النشاطات التي تساهم في قيمة المنتج أكثر من تكلفته. عادةً كل المنتجات تمر من خلال سلسة القيمة التي تبدأ بالبحث و التطوير و الهندسة Research, Development and Engineering Cycle و تنتقل إلى التصنيع Manufacturing Cycle ثم تنتقل إلى الزبون أو يتم التخلص منها Post-Sale Services and Disposal Cycle
أهم هذه الأنظمة كما ذكرها المؤلفان Kenneth Laudon و Jane Laudon في كتابهما Management Information System طبعة الـ 2004 و نشرتها Prentice Hall

لا أعرف تماما كيفية معالجة ضريبة المبيعات في الأردن و لكن أعرف أن معالجة الضريبة التراكمية (المتعددة و هي من الضرائب غير المباشرة) هي نسبة من الأساس الذي يتراكم. و لكن ضريبة القيمة المضافة هي نسبة من القيمة التي أضيفت على الأساس في مرحلة ما من مراحل الإنتاج.
