Blog’s Statistics & Performance

This topic is too huge to be discussed in one post. These are quick notes only in a simple way:

GA_Statistics

Performance

You can check the performance of your blog through: Google Pagespeed.

It’s very important tool for those who are “Self-Hosting” their websites – for example through WordPress.org. I find it handy too in many other areas such as deciding on displaying ads on my “Hosted” blog.

Statistics

One of the best statistics tool is: Google Analytics.

It’s free on self-hosted websites. However, it’s expensive on WordPress.com – Business Plan is required. WordPress provides its own statistics software that is a little bit simple in comparing to Google Analytics.

You can also check a different prospective of statistics on: Alexa Traffic Rank.

Have you ever tried any of these tools? They are very handy and you won’t regret trying them every now and then.

  1. I’ll have to try the Google Analytics. I have tried Alexa. I was just so happy I had any rank at all. It is kind of fun to compare my blog’s ranking on Alexa to business websites.

I do enjoy looking at the stats that WordPress itself provides. There is a lot of useful information there.

    1. Thank you very much, Cindy. WordPress statistics are enough indeed. However, other tools are helpful too. Glad that you enjoyed Alexa. I like it a lot and I used to use it much with my other business sites!

  2. Since I am still putting posts out there for entertainment and not for profit, I don’t look at the statistics very much. I should but I don’t. If I did I would have more likes and comments which would be nice.

    1. Thank you very much, Darlene. It won’t hurt for sure not following up with the statistics. However, they give insight what people are liking on my website and what culture they are from

    1. Thank you very much, Franchi. Yes, WP Statistics are more than enough – and it’s very easy to use in comparing to others. In general, you won’t need the other tools. Different prospective from different tools is helpful though
